Dennis H. Lester, 66, left this world and went to be with his Lord and Savior on September 2, 2019. Born on November 8, 1952 in Niagara Falls, New York, Dennis was the so of the late Thurman C. Lester and Madeline Lester.  He was also predeceased by his sister Brenda Wilgosz and brother Roger Lester.

Dennis is survived by his daughter, Kathaleen Ferguson and grandson, Devin Ferguson; sisters, Peggy Lester, Patricia Yonkoski, Linda Tomkiel, Debbie Dozier and brothers, Thurman M. Lester, Ken Lester, and Raymond Lester.  Dennis was part of a large family and leaves behind many cousins, nieces, nephews and uncles.  The family would also like to acknowledge the special friendships of Glenn Newberry, Nancy Miller, and Joe Pashkutz.

Dennis lived his early years in Niagara Falls and attended schools there and later moved with his family to Keysville, Virginia and finished his schooling there. Dennis worked several jobs, but retired from Cascades Paper in Niagara Falls, where he worked as a fork lift operator and plant guard.

Dennis loved being near the Niagara River and the Niagara Gorge, being near the water, fishing and spending time with his friends and family.  He could at times seem to be a bit crotchety, but was actually a softie inside and would literally give you the shirt off of his back if you asked for it.  For the past few years, Dennis was in poor health and became home bound.

Visitation and a celebration of Dennis’s life will be on Saturday, September 14th from 4-7 p.m. in the Chapel of OTTO REDANZ FUNERAL HOME, 2215 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY, where a brief prayer service will follow at 7:00 p.m. Dennis graciously donated his body to the University at Buffalo Anatomical Gift Program.  In lieu of flowers, the family would ask that you make a donation to Roswell Park Cancer Institute in his honor.  Arrangements are under the direction of Michael R. Goodlander.  Please visit for online condolences and to send a tribute gift to the family.
